My son Jeff took the picture, isn't a nice one?

It is really entertaining how many people are bitter at myself and my family, but you know I had to do what it takes!

And don't let Anna Nonymous fool all of you, she and I had a thing at one time and now she is just bitter - Just wanted to get that out in the open.

Hmmm, the thought "quis custodiet ipsos custodies" comes to mind. No harm or malice intended, I just couldn't let the "watching" comment pass without posting something...lol. Hopefully everyone will one day have moved on to better and greater things, and the bitterness will subside. Maybe we'll all even be able to look back dispassionately, remember the good times, and laugh together...

PS Many many years ago, I broke up with a girfriend and it really hurt. For the longest time I loathed and despised that person. But, so long as I felt that way I knew there was still some attachment within me to her; that I hadn't fully moved on. Then, one day I happened to pass her on the street and felt something entirely different... sublime indifference... that's when I knew I had healed, knew that the past no longer mattered. Just a thought...

Sorry for the delay in response, however I do have a lot of time on my hands and had to just get away for a week or so.

As I sit here having my cocktail to end this beautiful night of excitement and ponder on why you would bring up the topic of having to be watched (who will guard the guards), I have to think that you assume I am doing this for something other than pure enjoyment and recreation.

I too wonder why all have not moved on and why the bitterness remains, however it does bring me quite good entertainment and a wonderful way to end the night with a late night drink and off to bed with a good laugh.

Please do not wait any longer to have a laugh, laugh with me now.........

Papa N

No bitterness here. But for entertainment value, please let us know what your plans are once the mortgage industry begins to recover in 2009-2011 (BTW I know you're not Neil but lets play anyway) I'd like to know what you think. Perhaps we can get a few different views on the matter with some participation from the viewers.

A. Would you jump back in to the industry after new standards are in place?
B. Avoid the industry like the bubonic plague and enjoy the past rewards?
C. Re-invent the future of the subprime industry? new investors, something different and start all over?

I encourage others to voice their own opinions based on what you think you would do.

Subprime is over for the moment, but you gotta admit the ride was good while it lasted if you were employed in the industry. I know for me it was a positive employment opportunity that provided for me and my family. I achieved a lot of goals. Regardless of what you see on the news or what you hear from the flip side (subprime loan consumers and the media) the fact is not everyone involved was out to take advantage of people and make a few bucks.

Lets hear some opinions.

Sorry for taking so long to get back and reply. The late night drink idea was a great one. Guess I had too much Bombay Sapphire on hand, which led to far too many "late nights"...lol. Must admit, quite a few very good laughs though, thinking about the "old" days.

Yep, Shawn, I think a lot of us did have a pretty decent ride; it was good while it lasted. Though it's sad that for many folks the negatives didn't outweigh the good things.

I like your "C". I think there still is, and probably will always be a need for subprime. IMHO, it'll be back, and I think stonger than ever, but far different than it was. Oh well, it will be interesting to see what the future holds.

Oh "Neil", btw, there are several translations for the Latin phrase I quoted. Look for the one with "watchers" in it, it'll make more sense then; just a play on words... smile.gif

Oh well, I guess "Neil" doesn't want to play anymore... Although, like you said Shawn, we know it's not really him; the real person would have at least known how to spell his name correctly...lol. Shucks, and I really wanted to ask "him" how the insurance business was doing... I heard a rumor that some ex-FNLC'ers had flipped from mortgages to that.

OKAY, FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, MOST OF YOU AREN'T GOING TO LIKE THIS BUT HERE GOES ANYWAY.

I WORKED FOR THE COMPANY UNTIL 1996 - WHEN WE WERE NLCI. WE MOVED FROM AN OFFICE IN FT. LAUDERDALE WHICH WE'D CERTAINLY OUTGROWN, TO THE DEERFIELD FACILITY. WE WERE GROWING MY LEAPS AND BOUNDS AND WE ALL WORKED A LOT OF HOURS, ESPECIALLY AT THE END OF THE MONTH. IT SEEMED TO ME THAT NOT ONLY NEIL AND JEFF BUT YONA, LESLIE AND MARIANNE WE'RE ALL APPRECIATIVE OF THE WORK THAT WAS DONE AND THE PEOPLE WHO DID IT.

I WORKED DIRECTLY FOR JEFF. I HAVE NEVER HAD JUST A GREAT BOSS. PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT A GOOD BOSS IS BECAUSE CHANCES ARE, AT MY AGE, I'VE HAD MORE THAN MOST OF YOU. BESIDES THAT, I'M SURE JEFF WASN'T SITTING ON HIS REAR WHILE EVERYONE ELSE WAS WORKING. WHEN I WAS THERE, THE VP'S WORKED AS LONG AS EVERYONE ELSE.

THIS IS HOW I SEE IT, NEIL AND JEFF EXPECTED A LOT. NEIL AND JEFF GAVE A LOT AND I WAS ONE OF FORTUNATE PEOPLE TO HAVE WORKED FOR THEM.
